Here is the first page of 'Offerings' from Uncle Motague's Tales of Terror.
For this page I decided not to do a book review but do some research and some creative writing.
This is a picture I drew of the villain in this story.
Interview with Robert's Mother
By Holly Cooper
Today I will be talking to the ghost of Robert's mother who died in a most unexpected way........
When did you start to worry about Robert?
Well, I'd been worrying about him for a while, but when we moved to the new parish he started to spend less and less time with me and the other children. It really worried me.
When did you realise something was wrong with Robert?
Really, it was since we moved here, he'd always been distant but it was when he retired to the garden nearly all the time that I really noticed that something was up.He always looked so tired and worn out when he had only been in the garden, which was really quite a small place.
What did you think when you saw what Robert had been doing?
It really shocked me and I was surprised that my son could be capable of such a gruesome and brutal thing, it was then I knew I could not save him.
What was it like dying in front of your sons smiling face?
It was more painful than dying; seeing my own son smile down at me as the final breath left my body and knowing that he wasn't my son any more; also the fear of what awaited my husband when he returned then I woke up feeling like an entirely new person and I had to strain to remember anything of my beloved Robert and my poor, poor husband.
Robert's Mother became upset so I decided not to keep her as I did not want to upset her further
